How to Lose 20 Pounds In One Day
April 17, 2008 categories: Christian Articles
How would you like to lose some weight? How cool would it be to get fit enough to run a race and excel? Well, if you really want to lose some serious poundage, there’s only one way to do it: eat right and exercise. If, however, it’s your life that’s weighing you down, I have a solution.
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” (Hebrews 12:1)
In this context, the bible talks about “weights” that hold us down and prevent us from “running with endurance the race.” The weights are the cares and concerns of this world. Where will your next pay check come from? Where will you get the money for the mortgage? How are you going to buy school clothes for the kids? What about finding that special someone?
The “race” is life, and the word clearly shows us that life is a marathon that requires endurance, and not a sprint that’s over in a flash. In short, if you want to run the race with endurance, you need to lose all of the extra weight (cares and concerns) that are slowing you down and making you tired.
Matthew 6: 25-27 says, “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?”
You want the truth? Can you handle the truth?
You are valuable to God. You are worth His while. He will provide for you. He cares for you. He loves you.
Matthew 6:33 goes on to say, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” If you will act right now to make the Lord your number one priority, you will never have to worry about the cares and concerns of your life again. Notice I didn’t say that Jesus will make everything all better. Life is still life. You still have to hang in there. But you can be assured that He will supply for your needs. But first, you need a relationship with Jesus. Click here to find out how.
Now, isn’t gaining eternal life better than losing 20 pounds?
